FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are your beliefs?
At Spring Valley Baptist Preschool, we believe children begin developing their understanding of God through the people, experiences, and world around them. We seek to nurture a love for God and an appreciation for all He has made by incorporating biblical truth into age-appropriate learning and everyday experiences. We welcome children regardless of race, creed, color, sex, nationality, or religious beliefs.
Whats your schedule?
Our preschool runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM from mid-September through mid-May.
How old does my child need to be to attend?
Our preschool accepts preschoolers aged one to four years old based on their age on September 1 of the current school year.
What do I need to know about closings and delays?
Spring Valley Baptist Preschool follows Richland School District 2 closings. If Richland 2 closes, our preschool is closed. If Richland 2 has a 2 hour delay, our preschool is closed. On days that Richland 2 has early release for Elementary & Middle Schools, the preschool will be closed and that day will be a teacher workday at preschool.
What do I need to know about your teachers?
Our teaching staff is committed to creating a nurturing Christian environment where every child is known, loved, and encouraged as they learn and grow. All our teaching staff have completed an employment application, interview process, and have a clear background check.
Does my child need to be able to walk?
For the safety and well-being of all children, children enrolled in our one-year-old classes must be walking independently before attending preschool.
Does my child need to be potty trained?
Children entering our three-year-old classes must be fully potty-trained in accordance with regulations related to our classroom space and facilities.
What is your learning approach?
We believe in a "learning through play" approach. Young children learn best through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences.
What curriculum do you use?
Our approach is supported by ABCJesusLovesMe, a Christ-centered curriculum that meets children at their appropriate age and developmental level. Through purposeful activities and caring instruction, we seek to help each child grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and academically.
What happens if a class is full?
We receive many inquiries from potential preschool families, so it is important to remember that enrollment is on a first come first served basis. A waiting list is available when each class is full.
